Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though entering their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
